Building some of the world’s most beautiful yachts requires a special crew, one that is able to bestow on our products the excellence, passion and quality that set Ferretti Group apart. Our employees are the ultimate embodiment of these values and as such are the source of our success; our crew adds expertise, experience and a strong sense of belonging to love and passion for excellence and the pride of building unique masterpieces.
We believe that in order to continue to have an expert and motivated crew that feels valued, training and development play a key role. At Ferretti Group, employees are guided and involved at every stage of their development, using specific tools. However, in 2020, due to restrictions caused by the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, only 8,756 hours of training could be provided to our 1,537 employees, down from previous years.
The health and safety of workers has always been of fundamental importance to Ferretti Group. Ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment is not only a priority for the Group, but is also a strategic and development factor for the entire company.
In the last decade, thanks to a series of measures and policies designed to lower the number of accidents involving its workers, Ferretti S.p.A. has reduced its accident rate (that is, the number of accidents per million hours worked) by 80% with respect to 20101.
This extraordinary result was only made possible by detailed, continuous assessment of the potential risks at each of the Group’s shipyards and the consequent implementation of all the measures (whether organisational or systems-based) required to eliminate or, where this is not possible, reduce these risks to a minimum.
1 The increase in the injury frequency index during 2020 can be interpreted as an effect of the sudden imposition of the pandemic containment measures that led to a focus of company personnel on all the new measures to be taken to protect themselves from Covid-19, especially in the early months of the year, temporarily shifting attention away from all other occupational risks.
