Building beautiful, innovative, reliable boats requires cutting-edge production facilities and talented, passionate people. The Ferretti Group shipyards combine state-of-the-art production efficiency with detailing of unrivalled quality, courtesy of our artisans’ accomplished craftsmanship at every stage of the manufacturing process. The group’s Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Departments play key roles in ensuring that each yacht is worthy of the Ferretti name.
Our facilities have the latest-generation production systems and high-tech equipment, and most build yachts for more than one brand. They are located in Forlì, Cattolica, Ancona, Mondolfo, Sarnico and La Spezia.
Forlì
The Forlì site spans 14,000 square metres and produces boats for the Ferretti Yachts, Itama and Wally brands. It is also home to the group headquarters.
Cattolica
The Cattolica production site opened in 2001, covering a total area of about 14,000 m2, including 9,000 m2 of indoor facilities and 16 assembly stations. The yard was designed to meet the most advanced efficiency criteria and has the capacity to build up to sixteen 20- to 30-metre motor yachts at a time. The production layout was inspired by an island construction model, where each workstation is completely independent. Once a boat is complete, she can then be moved out through a convenient access point at the front without disrupting the other stations. The unit’s proximity to the sea also facilitates testing and sea trials. And as the goods-inward department is on site, all the incoming materials can be thoroughly checked.
Mondolfo
The Mondolfo site is a futuristic space of about 53,000 m2, with over 17,000 m2 of indoor facilities, and is much more than just a production line. It is a setting that creates beauty and functionality, technology and dreams, a place designed to add value to the ongoing development of Ferretti Group’s expanding product portfolio of increasingly large yachts. The site has its own innovative 500 m2 painting cab where the vessels are powder coated. The testing pool is used for all the sealing tests and water tests (of engines, exhausts, bilges and generators). The travel-lift, with a load-bearing capacity of 130 tons, completes operations with beaching and launching into the test pool.
Ancona
The nautical hub at Ancona spans an area of nearly 80,000 m2, with about 25,000 m2 of indoor facilities, and can construct pleasure craft up to 90 metres long. This multi-brand centre is home to the entire CRN fleet, Custom Line models as well as the new Pershing and Riva Superyachts Division. Outside, the Adriatic opens out in front of the yard; a unique location and a real asset to the site, the waterfront is effectively a small private tourist harbour.
The 250-metre-wide marina features three jetties – 40 ,100 and 100 metres long, respectively – which are used to fit out and finish yachts and maxi yachts. The shipyard has a 120-metre slipway for launching mega-yachts over 43 metres. To launch composite maxi yachts up to 40 metres and 220 tons in size, the shipyard has a travel-lift that is also used to haul up boats that need testing. The hub has three spacious modern work sheds (90 metres long, 28 metres wide and 25 metres high) with two high-tech facilities complete with extraction equipment, compressed air, and centralised technical gas, heating and electrical plants, as well as two bridge cranes for handling materials on board. The indoor facilities include 6 work sheds for steel and aluminium vessels and 2 for building maxi and mega-yachts in composite materials.
Sarnico
Created in 1842 on the Bergamo side of Lake Iseo deep in the Franciacorta area, the Sarnico site is Riva’s beating historical heart. This is where the classic Riva models were created. It is currently the construction site for 8- to 20-metre vessels.
The shipyard centres on Carlo Riva’s office; he designed it himself with a view not only to its interior and exterior design but also to its functionality. Known as La Plancia (the bridge), the office stands in the centre of the work shed, with a 40-metre-wide arch supported on two pillars that also carry two bridge cranes, each capable of lifting craft weighing over 20 tons. With its bold, futuristic design, which can also be seen from the other side of the lake along with the whole shipyard, the office is a listed building protected by the Italian Department of Cultural Heritage. The shipyard extends over an area of approximately 36,000 m2, about 17,000 m2 of them indoors. It has 10 moorings, 2 jib cranes, 4 painting cabs and a 50-ton trolley for transporting the finished yachts to the jetty and for all internal handling of hulls or bulky items.
La Spezia
The La Spezia production site came into operation in 2004 and is particularly important from a strategic and industrial as well as a social and environmental perspective. It is a key strategic site for the Ferretti Group because of the technical, logistical and commercial support it provides in the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian seas. Designed using the very latest construction techniques for both the production and commercial facilities, the yard covers a total area of 60,000+ m2, with 12,000 m2 of indoor facilities. These include industrial work sheds and office buildings as well as piers and jetties extending for a total length of about 400 metres, serviced by a 400-ton wheeled travel-lift.
