Ferretti Custom Line presents the new Navetta 26 crescendo

2010年8月3日

Ferretti Custom Line, a Ferretti Group brand operating within the production of fibreglass maxi-yachts measuring 26 to 37 metres, presents a world première at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes: Navetta 26 Crescendo, the very first model to be produced in the new semi-displacement line.

“Crescendo” represents further evolution in Ferretti Custom Line’s semi-displacement line, evoking the universe of classical music within the sphere of the height of Italian-made style culture. Quality, artisan work, sophisticated harmony, elegance and balance are fundamental values of this line of yachts.

Navetta 26 Crescendo, natural development of the previous maxi-yacht in the semi- displacement line, is the result of the close working relationship between Studio Zuccon International Project, the Ferretti Group’s AYT - Advanced Yacht Technology naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers at the Centro Stile of Ferretti Group.

This is the very first model in the revamped semi-displacement line, specially designed for those owners who prefer “slow motion” as it were, a leisurely cruise in complete silence and comfort.

The new yacht continues with the evolution of the “compact” semi-displacement concept. Navetta 26 Crescendo, 26 metres in length and almost 7 in width, features classical lines in which innovative solutions of both a formal and functional nature have been developed in order to increase on-board space, put it to even better use, and make it even more comfortable. Moreover, the new yacht once again confirms the painstaking attention the Ferretti Group pays to the environment, guaranteeing great consumption efficiency and a considerable sailing range.

The classical external lines take up the well-known shape of the 'Navetta' line, fully- complementing the interior design, and producing a harmonious set of solutions which use space to the advantage of more comfortable living. The light-coloured elm wood chosen for this first yacht, and the sand and dove grey colours used for the on-board details create a warm, welcoming environment. Furnishings, fabrics and décor can be personalised according to owners’ preferences who, with the aid of the Centro Stile architects and designers, can choose from the furnishing proposals offered by top Italian and international companies.

Navetta 26 Crescendo can accommodate 8 or 10 guests, depending on the layout chosen - in both cases, the master suite has been located on the main deck – and a crew area accommodating four.

NAVETTA 26 CRESCENDO in greater detail

MAIN DECK
The large cockpit is furnished with a fixed teak table which can be extended to seat eight, and provides access to the salon, split into the living and dining areas. The windows, larger than those fitted on the previous model, let natural light filter through. Exclusive materials are skilfully used to move the volumes, making space more dynamic. On board the yacht on

display at the Cannes boat show the elm wood used for the furnishings in the various different environments, alternates with the bleached oak of the flooring and the lacquered and leather wall panelling produced in the colours dove grey and sand.
On the right hand side, space is devoted to the living area, and features a two seater sofa, a large, leather L-shaped sofa, and a steel and opaque white lacquered coffee table. The television has been fitted in the opposite unit and features an in-built pop up system. Said unit has been lowered compared to the previous model, in order to make more room for the windows.

Continuing towards the bow, the large extendable table on the right hand side, produced in opaque white lacquering and steel with a crystal top, can seat ten guests. The chairs around the table have a steel structure and leather seat.

The spacious galley, with a door to the outside, is completely fitted out and features a comfortable dinette for four people. A large storage unit can also be used to fit another fridge, or a freezer. The galley provides access down to the crew area, where there is a utility area furnished as a laundry room. Said area is designed for a crew of up to four, with two twin cabins and two heads, each of which equipped with a roll away shower.

Opposite the galley, amidships, are the stairs to access the upper and lower decks. This layout has made it possible to separate the lives of the guests on-board from those of the service staff, maximising comfort for both Owners and their guests.

The master suite is located in a privileged position at bow on the main deck, in order to ensure complete privacy. Light dominates this area, too, filtering in through the large windows, and lighting the interiors, revealing prestigious materials in natural shades. Sand- coloured lacquered panelling alternates with leather details, the material in which a panel has been produced to house the plasma TV located in the wall opposite the bed.

The suite features a working area, which can also be used for intimate breakfasts, with a pull- out, semi-oval table and two small armchairs. The space is completed with a large wardrobe and the master head, featuring a large separate shower, enhanced by natural shades.

LOWER DECK
Descending to below deck, there is a spacious area which can be used as either a utility room or additional wardrobe for guests. The yacht can have either three or four guest cabins depending on the layout the Owner chooses:

- Layout A: 5 cabins in 26 metres, including the master cabin; two large VIP cabins with double beds, a walk-in closet and private head with a large shower decorated with mosaics – and two cabins with twin beds and private head;
- Layout B: provides for a full-beam VIP cabin – almost a second master cabin – with large, open view windows and two VIP cabins, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds, each of which have a private head and shower.

SKY LOUNGE
Compared with the previous model, the sky lounge at bow has been extended, and currently houses the helm station and panoramic lounge, furnished with an L-shaped divan and a table. This area communicates with the outside through sliding windows offering a view of the sea from any angle.

A large teak table with small armchairs, ideal for seating up to eight, have been placed outside this area, on the upper deck. There is a compartment housing barbeque equipment, too, and a storage hatch which can also be set up for use as an icebox.

Sunbeds are located towards the stern for sun lovers, whilst the walkaround at bow enables easy access to a spacious sundeck located on the deckhouse. Again at bow, a sofa with cushions for enjoying a view of the sea is located on the main deck.

SUN DECK
Compared with the previous model, Navetta 26 Crescendo offers yet another area for enjoying the sun in complete privacy. A stairway from the upper deck provides access to a sundeck furnished with cushions and a sofa.

INSTRUMENTATION, ENGINES AND GARAGE

Navetta 26 Crescendo is equipped with last generation instrumentation, including the new Gi8 control system, meaning controls, utilities, auxiliary units and alarms can be quickly and easily monitored and managed using touch-screens. This facilitates the crew’s access to onboard systems, and increases both comfort and safety.

The yacht is fitted with twin MAN V8-900 engines, which drive Navetta 26 Crescendo to a top speed of 14 knots and a cruise speed of 12. Alternatively, the MAN V10-1100 model will achieve a top speed of 16 knots, and a cruise speed of around 13.5 (preliminary data).

Two Mitsubishi ARG (Anti Rolling Gyro) stabilisers fitted in the engine room are supplied as standard on this Ferretti Custom Line maxi-yacht.

The stern hatch providing access to the garage is clad in teak, and can be transformed into a platform to facilitate swimmers’ descent into the sea.

SOUND COMFORT, CONSUMPTION AND RANGE

The Navetta 26 Crescendo sound insulation values are very good when compared with those of fibreglass yachts of a similar size. At a speed of 13 knots, for example, values do not exceed 49.5 db(A) in the master cabin. The same speed registers 57 db(A) in the helm station and no more than 68 db(A) in the upper external deck. Insulation is such that, riding at anchor, noise levels remains at around 40 db(A) in the master cabin with the generators running and the Anti Rolling Gyro stabilisers switched on.

Consumption efficiency and high sailing range are ensured by the balance between the performance of the semi-displacement hull and the engine/shaft line/propeller propulsion system, as well as the work carried out to optimise the weights and trim. Navetta 26 Crescendo guarantees long cruises with reduced consumption. Ideal sailing speeds span 6.5 to 13 knots, with low consumption levels at all speeds. At 10 knots, for example, overall consumption is only 70 litres/hour and the range is over 1500nm.

Attention to the external environment and onboard comfort are a prerogative on Navetta 26 Crescendo. Application of the AQUADRIVE thrust-bearing elastic joint system, which contributes to achieving excellent results in terms of comfort, is a clear example of this.
The system enables isolation of the engine from the rest of the yacht, considerably reducing both noise and vibrations. Application of the joint means the engine has been installed horizontally, ensuring permanent alignment and improving the use of space, leading to a drastic reduction in vibrations and noise in both the exterior and interiors of the yacht.

DÉCOR AND MATERIALS
In line with the tradition of the shipyard, Ferretti Custom Line maxi-yachts stand out for their excellent quality and painstaking attention paid to detail. This leads to production of semi- customised products whose Owners, flanked by personal architects and designers of Centro

Stile, can choose all those elements of the yacht which are not strictly structural, commencing with the décor, which can be selected from a range of valuable materials, such as woods, leathers and fabrics. Owners can also select the furnishings and lighting, thanks to working relationships with top Italian and international brands.

Navetta 26 Crescendo displays rational space layouts, in which the classical style is conferred by the design and the natural shades used. The interiors are lit by light which filters through the large windows. Harmonious style solutions are created through a skilful mix of materials such as leather, lacquered pieces, fabrics and mosaics. One example is the combination of bleached oak parquet with the honey coloured elm used for the furniture, marked with the details on the sand/ecru coloured panelling and leather on the walls.

Personalised features on board Ferretti Custom Line maxi-yachts can also be extended to the lighting applications. On this yacht on display in Cannes, for example, the shipyard carried out a careful integrated study compared with the layout of the yacht, in order to create a better led lighting system, to characterise some of the areas of the interiors more strongly, guaranteeing total on-board comfort and relaxation.
