Designed to welcome guests in a convivial atmosphere, the generous spaces are combined with solutions that elevate freedom and comfort to new levels.
Forlì, July 2, 2025 – A magnificent ‘home on the water’ is the best way to describe the new Ferretti Yachts 940 premiered at the last Venice Boat Show. The ultimate expression of the Just Like Home style featured across the entire range, it transforms every cruise into a fantastic journey and always makes the owner feel ‘at home’.
Designed to welcome guests in a convivial atmosphere, the generous spaces are combined with solutions that elevate freedom and comfort to new levels. The sophisticated design of each setting and the care lavished on the stylistic details give the settings a particularly welcoming and functional feel—the ideal combination for both celebrations and moments of relaxation.
With a length overall of 28.97 metres (95ft 1in) and a maximum beam of 6.76 metres (22ft 2in), this first widebody yacht in the range stands out for the five-cabin layout – with the master cabin positioned on the main deck and four guest cabins – the outstandingly versatile exterior spaces and the incredible view out over the water through floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces.
The visual impact is dominated by the sweeping horizontal lines that give the yacht a sleek silhouette. The design concept behind Ferretti Yachts 940 is based on three principles: dynamism, perceived lightness and dialogue with the environment. It’s a language expressed in the form of panoramic windows and the sophisticated use of two-tone pairings to create a contemporary style.
Ferretti Yachts 940 is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The exterior styling is by Filippo Salvetti and the interiors are by design firm Ideaeitalia.
MAIN DECK
Starting from the stern on the main deck, the spacious 32 m2 cockpit can be configured with two facing sofas and a large central table, or alternatively, as chosen for this first unit, furnished with free-standing pieces by Minotti for greater flexibility. The area has a glass parapet that establishes continuity with the stern platform, creating an open area that’s ideal for spending time in company, in close contact with the water.
The garage door is incorporated in the transom, providing access to a tender of up to 4.10 m in length. Launching the tender is made easier by the pantograph mechanism that lowers the swim platform below the surface of the water.
The main lounge, entered from the cockpit through a large sliding glass door, covers almost 30 m2 and highlights continuity between interior and exterior with the minimalist design of the gunwale. The large, glazed surfaces – including the floor-to-ceiling window in the dining area – are an important new design feature. And thanks to the discreet and non-invasive exterior parapet, they offer a spectacular panoramic view as well as allowing natural light to flood in.
This spacious living area can be configured with various options. The standard version features a large Minotti corner sofa opposite a low cabinet with a TV standing on it. There are also two optional variants offering the possibility of a second sofa or a storage unit on the starboard side: in both cases, the sliding TV is concealed in a wall compartment.
The midship section features the dining area, which comfortably seats eight guests around an elegant dining table with a bronze glass top (designed by Bonaldo Art for this first unit), and has direct access to the galley on the port side. The galley has separate access to the port side walkway, the Raised Pilot House and the laundry area, and from here down to the crew quarters.
On the starboard side of the dining area, an optional large opening window further enhances the view and the feeling of continuity.
The Raised Pilot House features a windscreen with no central pillar for better visibility. There is also a comfortable sofa for the crew in this area.
Past the salon, on the starboard side, a hallway provides access to the master cabin, the day head and the stairs down to the lower deck.
The full-beam master cabin – almost 27 m2 – offers a king size bed with a leather headboard, generous storage compartments, a walk-in wardrobe and an elegant silver roots marble vanity table with couch. The en suite bathroom, which takes up the full beam of the boat forward in the bow, features a spacious shower finished in Silver Roots marble and a smoked glass partition separating the bathroom fixtures.
Two moods are available for all the settings: Classic and Contemporary, both created to offer the owner all the pleasure of an elegant, inviting, clean and well-balanced space. While they both share the same unmistakable Made in Italy styling, the Classic mood taps into warm, earthy elements, while Contemporary features glowing woods and fabrics in fresh hues inspired by the colours of the sea.
The forward outdoor area is divided into two spaces: a large sun pad with built-in glass holders, and a forward-facing C-shaped sofa with a central teak coffee table. The side walkways are left free for easy access to the mooring equipment. An awning is available for protection from the sun.
UPPER DECK
The generous 50 m2 flybridge is the ideal welcoming space for al fresco meals, offering an experience immersed in the beauty and scents of the sea. There are two staircases, one outdoor in the cockpit and one in the Raised Pilot House.
The central section of the upper deck is protected by a hard top – available in fixed and, on request, louvre versions – to ensure shade and comfort.
This area contains the helm station and a dining area for up to nine guests, with seating (including a comfortable sofa) by Talenti on the first unit, and a practical outdoor galley featuring a bar counter and Minotti stools.
The structural arch incorporated in the aft gunwale, designed with a minimalist, contemporary approach, has a distinctive light and slender shape, acting as a sort of elegant ribbon wrapped around the upper deck.
Finally, the stern area can be completely customised, as is the case on this first unit, with free-standing furniture such as Talenti sun loungers or Minotti low tables, for the ultimate al fresco experience.
LOWER DECK
The lower deck contains the guest sleeping area, consisting of three VIP cabins and one cabin with sliding beds. All the cabins have a spacious en suite bathroom and generous wardrobes, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy on board.
The crew quarters forward in the bow are designed for functionality and efficiency, with a fully appointed dinette, a single cabin for the captain and a double cabin, both complete with private bathroom and separate shower. In the optional configuration, the captain’s cabin can be converted into a double cabin, allowing the boat to accommodate up to four crew members.
ENGINES AND PROPULSION
FERRETTI YACHTS 940 can be powered by two 2000 HP MAN V12 engines (top speed 25 kn - cruising speed 21 kn) or two 2200 HP MAN V12X engines (top speed 27 kn - cruising speed 23 kn). Preliminary data.
