The model combines the DNA of the sporty open yacht with a fresh take on design, liveability and comfort, for an unparalleled living experience at sea.
Itama 70 enhances the experience of freedom at sea through new spaces, innovative solutions and a contemporary design language, while retaining the minimalist style that has always been a feature of every model in the brand’s range.
Following the Itama Power Circle event in Porto Rotondo, it was unveiled as a world premiere at the latest Cannes Yachting Festival, this is the second model to take centre stage in the Itama range renewal process.
With a length overall of 21.23 metres and a beam of 5.30 metres, Itama 70 is the result of collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee and its Engineering Department. The exterior styling, by Vallicelli Design, and the interiors, created by IdeaeItalia, reinterpret the distinctive elements of the Itama tradition, giving shape to a new balance between sportiness, elegance and comfort.
In keeping with ‘Made in Italy’ style and the sporty lines typical of Itama, the exterior design interprets the brand’s heritage through a contemporary lens, while introducing aesthetic and functional solutions that define the yacht’s personality. They include the decision to align the gunwale with the sheer line, shifting the junction between the hull and deck to the highest part of the hull, at the edge of the deck. In this way, the line takes on a convex longitudinal profile that sweeps from bow to stern, allowing for further expansion of the deck spaces, particularly in the forward area. Itama 70’s profile is also characterised by the side windows running along the hull – first introduced on the Itama 54 – and the transom, which harmoniously follows the angle of the stem, creating an elegant and dynamic silhouette that embodies the brand’s sporting spirit.
MAIN DECK
The main deck of Itama 70 is designed for enjoying life at sea in the utmost comfort, making the most of the spaces dedicated to socialising.
From the spacious stern platform, which can accommodate a 3.25-metre tender, access to the cockpit is via a door that opens in two sections: the upper section has a pantograph opening mechanism, while the lower section swings out to create a practical step. At the stern, the living area is dominated by a large sun pad – an iconic Itama feature – which is directly connected to the dining area by an integrated backrest that provides a seamless transition between the different areas on the main deck. The U-shaped dining area is completed by a table with a teak top. Opposite, on the starboard side, is the wet bar unit, which is fitted with a sink and fridge and can be customised on request with an ice maker, a grill or a hob, as well as an additional drawer-style fridge – one possible configuration also offers the option of having two different cooking stations simultaneously. The unit can also be transformed into an elegant chaise longue thanks to the addition of a comfortable cushion with a versatile backrest, further increasing the seating options in the living area (optional). A practical electric bimini top protects this area from the sun and can be fitted with side panels and an aft extension to provide additional shade.
The helm station is located on the port side and provides excellent visibility as well as seating for up to three people. The standard configuration includes two 12-inch touchscreen chartplotters, which can be upgraded to 16-inch units as an option, with SIMRAD navigation systems.
In keeping with Itama tradition, access to the foredeck is centrally positioned in relation to the windscreen and reached via convenient steps. This area is completely separate from the companionway leading down to the lower deck, creating a smoother and more natural flow of movement on board. In line with the styling of Itama 54, Itama 70 also features a spacious forward sun pad, perfectly integrated into the deck design and acting as an invitation to enjoy the sea in complete freedom, with a panoramic view that enhances the open yacht concept.
LOWER DECK
The welcoming and elegant lower deck is designed to offer the utmost in comfort on board, featuring a galley, a dinette, three cabins and three bathrooms. The stylistic and functional solutions that characterise the spaces below deck include the single floor level featured throughout all the settings. The result is a lower deck free of steps, allowing for fluid, uninterrupted movement. The large windows running along the hull, incorporating the portholes, allow natural light to flood into the interiors.
One of the factors that has had the greatest influence on the layout of the lower deck is the decision to position the owner’s cabin aft – a layout typically found on larger open yachts – which optimises space at the same time as reducing the perception of noise. The bed is centrally positioned, with access on the port side to the private master bathroom, complete with all modern amenities.
The interior dinette and galley area are situated forward. On the starboard side, the dinette features a spacious L-shaped sofa with storage compartments and an extending table. Opposite is a fully equipped corner galley and a wall-mounted television (up to 55-inch). Every space has been designed to combine functionality and organisation and so maximise the available storage, with various cupboards in the hallway and the option of installing a washer-dryer under the stairs connecting the two decks.
The lower deck is completed by two guest cabins, both with en-suite bathrooms. The VIP cabin is in the bow, while the guest cabin is located on the port side, featuring a queen-size bed and the option, on request, to add a pullman bed. The bathroom in the guest cabin can also be used as a dayhead, thanks to access from the hallway.
There is also the option, on request, of a single crew cabin with a separate bathroom, accessible from the aft sun pad. Otherwise, the space can be fitted out as a storage room, providing yet another solution for organising and optimising space on board.
The style code featured in the exterior design is also reflected in the interiors, where the Itama tradition is reimagined in a contemporary style through the use of simple yet refined materials, such as leather and wood, which help to create a warm, welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The colour customisation option makes it possible to choose between warm date-coloured tones and fresher, brighter shades of blue, creating spaces full of character and style, in true Itama fashion.
PROPULSION AND TECHNOLOGY
Itama 70 is fitted with twin MAN V12 engines. The standard version features two 1,400 HP engines, delivering a top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots; the optional version, with two 1,550 HP engines, delivers a top speed of 39 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots (preliminary data). The boat is fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including the XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system, which can be equipped with a manoeuvring joystick. Also from XENTA are the trim tabs and thrusters (the stern thrusters are optional). The yacht can also be fitted, on request, with the Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser to minimise roll.
