Ferretti 590: comfort and performances

30 de agosto de 2004

The Ferretti 590 is a completely new project which has been introduced into the Ferretti range to replace the 57-foot model.

After as many as 74 hulls produced and having enjoyed a large commercial success, the Ferretti 57' will now be replaced by a new yacht which is expected to be the answer from the Ferretti shipyards to the new market requirements. Without ever neglecting its tradition, which is still well expressed by the design concept known as "family feeling" characterising all the craft produced in the Forlì shipyard, the Ferretti 590 with its sleek silhouette and soft, streamlined shape succeeds in combining an elegant lay-out with the modern solutions now introduced in the interior design styling.

Also in this new project it is easy to detect the distinctive and unmistakable features of the Zuccon International Project Studio. The latter is responsible for the design of the superstructure, while the studies on the propulsion and hull have been entrusted to the Ferretti Engineering Division. In line with the expectations of its customers and with its own target, the new Ferretti 590 has all the distinctive elements typical of large craft, such as the substantial space occupied by the windowing in the saloon or the large portholes in the shipowner's cabin, designed in order to give a realistic feeling of being able to "touch" the sea also from inside the yacht.

Already in the latest models produced in the shipyard, the design work by the Zuccon Studio and by Ferretti Engineering has been focusing especially on making the fly-bridge space more enjoyable, in order to allow for extremely pleasant hours spent on board with family and friends. For this reason the new Ferretti 590 has an outdoor living area which is even larger and more comfortable, thanks to the comfortable sofa with a large rectangular table. This provides enough space for a drink or a lunch with friends in a very relaxing atmosphere; the standard includes a fridge and wash-basin as well as a grill on request. The guests on the flying bridge can enjoy a complete view of the sea, also thanks to a large sun-lounge and to the chaise-longue next to the steering area, provided with a dashboard that can be closed electronically as in all models of the Ferretti range. The flying bridge thus becomes an area to be enjoyed to the full without forgetting the need for privacy also when you are stopping in a bay, thanks to the new lay-out which protects this open space even more from the outside view. To reach the main deck there is a staircase (with a greater inclination so as to make it easier to use) leading to the cockpit; or to reach directly the saloon, it is possible to use a second small staircase which can be easily reached from an opening next to the chaise-longue. Walking into the saloon you get the impression of stepping into a living room designed to put the guests at ease during the conversation: apart from the traditional sofa with an extensible table nearby, there is also a corner armchair for two people.

On the side piece of furniture there is a television set with LCD. A second round-shaped dinette near the pilot-house allows for conversation while steering at the same time, or it can be used as a comfortable area to relax during the cruise. Walking down a few steps you reach the well-equipped and functional kitchen, and from here the fourth cabin. The latter is a feature provided by the Ferretti shipyards only for this type of craft with a bed and private bathroom. It can also be turned into a greatly appreciated "utility room" with its own bed and private bathroom for a crew member or the baby sitter. But the most interesting features of the Ferretti 590 are in the night area. A staircase close to the pilot-house and which cannot be seen from the cockpit, leads to the three cabins which have been carefully designed in all details: two cabins with double beds plus one cabin with two parallel single beds. Each of them has its own private bathroom with a large rectangular shower cubicle and it own wardrobe. Considering the size and the space available in both double cabins, it is almost impossible to tell them from the shipowner's cabin located in the centre of the yacht. The latter has a very large wardrobe compared to the overall dimension of the craft and a new type of windowing which follows the original design of the portholes already present in the latest models produced by the Ferretti shipyards. This means that the cabin is always brightly lit and you get the feeling of actually living in the sea environment. For special guests there is a VIP cabin in the prow, brightly lit and comfortable. The third cabin with two parallel single beds is extremely comfortable thanks to the careful design of this part of the new yacht.

This has made it possible to exploit the space in such a way as to make room for a wardrobe where clothes and luggage can be stored. As for the performance of the Ferretti 590, two MAN 1100 offers great performances with a cruising speed of 32 knots, and a maximum speed of 35 knots. All this means that theFerretti 590 is a new project combining technology with the maximum style and comfort: the result as always is a motor yacht where the space disposition has been studied very carefully to allow for a splendid cruise with all the necessary privacy, as well as the styling solutions adopted for larger craft. Indeed the platform aft for bathing is elongated providing enough room to contain one of the latest jet-ski models, apart from the tender on the spoiler.
