MOCHI CRAFT DOLPHIN 64’ CRUISER:
"ITALIAN STYLE" LOBSTER BOAT EVOLVES FURTHER

During the 35th Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes (September, 11th – 16th 2012), Mochi Craft presents the Dolphin 64’ Cruiser, the new model in the brand’s planing line. Following in the wake of the flagship, the 74’ Cruiser, this new Dolphin yacht aims to meet the requirements of all customers looking for the utmost comfort, manoeuvrability and elegance on board, combined with a unique, unmistakable style - all features that have always characterised Mochi Craft’s lobster boats and which, on this new model, are further enhanced by a touch of modern flair.

Designed by architect Brunello Acampora from Studio Victory Design in close cooperation with Norberto Ferretti, the AYT - Advanced Yacht Technology and the Centro Stile Ferrettigroup, the Dolphin 64’ Cruiser shows how the experience gained by Mochi Craft in creating “Italian style” lobster boats has now taken another major step ahead.

The Dolphin 64’ Cruiser combines the harmonious, sleek lines of the hull - which has remained unchanged with respect to the previous model - and the typical marine style of the interiors, which are now even more spacious and comfortable thanks to the extended deck superstructure and a new layout. In line with the boatyard’s tradition, Mochi Craft owners can choose the colour shade of their yacht: besides aquamarine - which comes standard in this new model - and blue (the colour of hull number one), other pastel shades are available (turquoise, coral, yellow and amaranth), contributing to making each and every Mochi Craft yacht stand out amongst all others.
As usual, all onboard details have been devoted the utmost care and built with unmatched craftsmanship: from the main deck gunwales and handrails in solid teak with natural finishes to the bitts milled out from one single block of steel and decorated with a carved dolphin, the symbol of the brand. Inside, the warmth of teak goes hand with hand with innovative décor solutions, which give this yacht a distinctive contemporary style.

The Dolphin 64’s main aesthetic feature is its superstructure, whose volumes have been increased to make even more onboard space available. Another by-now unmistakable feature of Mochi Craft Cruisers’ outer profile - perfectly harmonised with the yacht's stylish lines - is the wide flybridge that extends towards the stern and shelters the cockpit. On the main deck, the larger interiors also benefit from the wide front and side glazing which lets through plenty of natural light, allowing all guests to enjoy a wonderful view and the captain to rely on outstanding visibility while cruising. Light is the true protagonist below deck too, thanks to the wide, distinctive glazing in the hull, in the area of the master and VIP fore cabins.

MAIN DECK
The wide cockpit, covered by the flybridge, welcomes onboard the new Dolphin 64’Cruiser. As in traditional lobster boats - which were first conceived for lobster fishing - this area is characterised by very large spaces, once used to store caught fish and now ideal to relax and enjoy life at sea. The cockpit is furnished with a teak table and a functional “bench sofa” with folding backrest that can be converted into a comfortable chaise longue facing the stern or, when joined with the seat in the transom, into a large sundeck. Under the cockpit is the garage where the tender can be stored. When the electro-hydraulic door is opened, and additional aft area is obtained, which can also be used as a swimming and sunbathing platform. From the cockpit, the sidedecks lead towards the bow, where a large sun pad and a U-shaped sofa allow to relax while enjoying the utmost privacy.
The main deck saloon can be accessed through a sliding glass door with a fixed part on the left and an up-and-over upper part allowing it to open towards one of the two cabinets located in the cockpit, which is also equipped with a sink. An ice-maker and other accessories and equipment – including a third pilot station – can be added upon request. A second storage cabinet can be found to port, under the stainless steel and teak staircase that leads to the flybridge. The saloon has been conveniently divided into the living, dining and steering areas. The galley, to starboard, is completely separated from the rest of the boat and can be accessed in three different ways: from the saloon, through a sliding door; from the outside, through a door located along the starboard broadside; and from the lower-deck crew quarters. In this way, the Owners and their guests can move freely without ever meeting the crew. The living area, on the left, is furnished with a large U-shaped sofa and a pouf with removable cushion that can be converted into a coffee table. On the right-hand side stands the TV set: the screen has been installed in an open niche and can be electrically raised or lowered. In the latter case it will still be visible, but completely enclosed by the cabinet frame.
Continuing towards the bow, the galley can be reached, characterised by white oak outer walls. A high cupboard stands against the aft wall, while a series of wooden bookshelves can be found in the corner towards the saloon. Access to the galley - which features Ernestomeda furniture and Bosch household appliances - can be gained through a wooden sliding door. To the left of the galley is the custom-made dining table seating 6 people, with glass top and leather basement. The dining area, located in front of the left glazing letting in plenty of natural light, is also lit by a series of square LED spotlights. Upon request, LED lighting systems can be installed everywhere on the boat. Beyond the kitchen, to starboard, is the steering station, which has been extensively redesigned and now features a new arrangement of the various control panels. Beside it, amidships, a stairway leads to the night area, while a PC corner has been installed on the left - an interesting furnishing solution including a special cabinet which, when the worktop is lifted and a second worktop is slid out, can be converted into a small desk. Some storage cabinets and compartments can also be found to port.

LOWER DECK
On the lower deck the new Dolphin 64’ Cruiser features a three-cabin layout with three heads (a different configuration with a fourth guest cabin with twin beds to portside is also possible). The entire underdeck area layout has been extensively rearranged, with a special focus on the full-beam master cabin, which is located amidships, where it enjoys unmatched privacy, total comfort, stability and noiselessness. Access to this cabin - very bright thanks to large windows with portholes - is gained from the lobby by descending a few steps towards the stern. The bed is arranged diagonally, while along the starboard wall stands a sofa with a spacious walk-in wardrobe to the side. Two Axolight reading lights are installed besides the bed. The Owner has available a luxury bathroom divided into three different areas: the toilet area is closed by a satin glass door, the shower box by a polished glass door, while the central area is fitted with a large washbasin by Antonio Lupi supported by a steel frame designed by Centro Stile Ferrettigroup, a solution that adds a very “light” touch to the whole room and has made it possible to fit the area under the washbasin with two leather drawers. The bathroom can also boast a large mirror which can slide to one side to reveal the open-view glazing on the port broadside. The master cabin has been redesigned not only in terms of layout, but also as regards the materials used for its furnishing, which have now become "lighter" and more contemporary: solid wood has been used to finish the cabinet tops and the double bed, while the vanity set and the headboard also feature elegant leather inserts. Finishing details have undergone a general restyling in the other two cabins too: the guest cabin located to port side is fitted with twin beds and has a separate head that can also be used as a day toilet accessed from the corridor. The VIP cabin, located at the bow and very bright thanks to the two large side windows, is furnished with a double bed and two wardrobes, and has a very comfortable bathroom with a shower box.

FLYBRIDGE
Thanks to its considerable size, the flybridge - which stretches onto the aft area of the main deck and can be easily accessed from the cockpit thanks to the wood and steel staircase - allows the captain to easily pilot the yacht while enjoying the company of their guests in the open air. The steering station, just like on the flagship - the Dolphin 74’ Cruiser - is located amidships, under the mast, and is fully equipped for outdoor dining. Aft, the freestanding furniture allows to enjoy the sun to the fullest. A bimini top can also be installed on the flybridge upon request.

CREW AREA
The crew area is located astern, on the lower deck, and consists of a cabin for two sailors and a head. It is completely separated from all guest areas and has been extensively renovated and enlarged, also by adding a utility room which is connected to the galley by stairs.

PROPULSION AND PERFORMANCES
The Dolphin 64’ Cruiser comes in two possible MTU engine configurations: 2 x 8V 2000 M84 1.102 mph engines as a standard or 2 x 8V 2000 M94 1.268 mph engines in the optional version. In the former case the yacht can reach a maximum speed of 29 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots; in the latter, the maximum speed will be 31 knots and the cruising speed 27 knots. In the standard configuration the Dolphin’s range is 235 nautical miles at maximum speed, a figure that increases to 260 miles at cruising speed. When the optional propulsion system is installed, the range will be 230 nautical miles at maximum speed and 250 nautical miles at cruising speed.
