Having a watch is especially important in Venice: getting lost in the streets
can make you completely forget about the passing of time.
On these pages, some exterior shots of Palazzo Torres, where Dolce&Gabbana
and its design (courtesy of Dolce&Gabbana) opened its boutique in Calle Larga XXII Marzo. On page 43, the Kosmos watch
After all, history is tangible here, as it is in the rest of the city:
the boutique’s interior is completely covered with original boise-
rie, painted and decorated with trompe-l’oeil technique, bringing
back its former glory. And don’t forget to also look down, because
the floors are authentic masterpieces made of multi-colored inlays
of ancient marble. In perfect Venetian style. Gazing at the walls,
you will be captured by the decorative wooden bas-reliefs depi-
cting popular scenes of commercial and artisanal life from Venice
in the late Nineteenth century. Finally, take a moment to look up
at the ceiling to admire the amazing golden Murano glass chande-
lier, the first gem on display as you enter the boutique.
The first, but not the only one: some of the most precious
jewels of the Italian fashion house are here, including the Kosmos
watch, the latest arrival from the collection of Invisible Setting ti-
mepieces. Craftsmanship has truly reached its peak here: every
piece is assembled by hand by master watchmakers in Geneva.
And having a watch is especially important in Venice: getting lost
in the streets, searching for the city’s hidden beauties, or simply
following the flow of the sea in the canals, can make you comple-
tely forget about the passing of time.
