INNOVATORS

As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations,
Wally organized an initiative for university
students called wallybeacon. They were given
the challenge of developing an idea in one of
three areas: personal goods, innovative living,
and smart services and experiences.
16 international teams took part. Among those
present at the final two-day event were Luca
Bassani (Founder and Chief Designer of Wally),
Alessia Zecchini (world freediving champion),
Azel (international beatbox champion) and
Matteo Battiston (Chief Design Officer at
EssilorLuxottica). A cash prize was awarded to
the three winning projects.
The vast amount of interest that it attracted
underlines wallybeacon’s huge potential as a
platform to support young innovators.
