This celebration doesn’t just commemorate a city; it also honors the
ingenuity of mankind, which had to apply itself to the fullest to overcome
the challenge of creating and preserving a city so close to the water.
LUCA CAMPIGOTTO
Luca Campigotto (Venice 1962) lives in Mi-
lan and New York. After earning a degree in
Modern History, he turned his focus to land-
scape photography, completing projects all
over the world. A dedicated writer as well,
his writings are collected in the volume Dis-
oriente.
Among the several books he has published:
Theatres of War, which tells about the plac-
es of World War I; Gotham City dedicated
to New York; My Wild Places, which focuses
instead on nature, and Iconic China which is
about the Chinese megalopolies. His latest
book, American Elegy, is a journey through
the American wild landscapes and industri-
al suburbs.
