“NAUTICAL DESIGN AWARD”: CRN 130 DARLINGS DANAMA AWARDED THE PRIZE FOR BEST INTERIOR DESIGN

2012年11月9日

Milan, 8th November 2012 – After being praised at the Monaco Yacht Show back in September, where it was premiered, the new 60 metre mega yacht CRN 130 “Darlings Danama” won another important prize today. The CRN Shipyard yacht - a Ferretti Group brand, specialized in the construction and marketing and sale of fully customized steel and aluminum displacement mega yachts, ranging from 46 to 90 metres and a displacement line (43 metres long CRN Navetta 43) - was in fact awarded with the “Nautical design award”, organized by the magazine Yacht & Sail (RCS) and the Industrial Design Association (ADI), in the category “Interior design – Motor Yachts”. The jury, having seen Darlings Danama exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show, “appreciated the great balance between the interiors, whose structural aspects were chosen by Gianni Zuccon’s Studio, and the open spaces designed by architects Alexandre and Cristina Negoescu who followed the owners’ requests. The boat was liked for the innovative spatial solutions of its internal layout, where materials were used consistently, exceeding the usual characteristics of saloons. Despite its 60 metres the spaces are well-balanced and consistent with the externals”. The award, which is in its third edition and which was held today in Milan, is particularly important especially for the high profile of its jury, made up of an ADI designer as well as an influential jury of owners led by Walter de’ Silva of Volkswagen. Among the owners, judging the candidate yachts at the NDA 2012, were: Giorgio Armani, Vittorio Missoni, Lamberto Vallarino Gancia and the major of Venice Giorgio Orsoni. The models of the yachts, winners of the third Nautical Design Award, obviously including that of Darlings Danama, will be exhibited from 9th to 18th November at an exhibition which will be open to the public in Milan and set up in the renovated Piazza XXV Aprile. M/Y Darlings Danama Darlings Danama, hull number 130 of the shipyard, made of steel and aluminium and commissioned to CRN by a European ship Owner, is the sixth 60 metre ship built from 2005 till today, a particularly significant result within this market segment. Darlings Danama was built on a 10.20 metres naval platform, the same one used for other important 60m mega yachts manufactured by the shipyard of Ancona, such as the CRN 126 "Blue Eyes" 60 m and CRN 128 “Mimtee” 60m. The mega yacht can comfortably host 12 people, in 5 guest cabins and the master suite, plus 14 crew members. The boat is equipped with two Caterpillar 3512 B-Chp 1’455 kW@1835 rpm engines, which allow it to navigate at a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. The slim and sleek bow and the imposing volumes, with wide spaces overlooking the sea, characterize this cream mega yacht, whose external lines and internal subdivisions bear the distinguishing mark of Studio Zuccon International Project, that worked in association with CRN technical office, which designed the ship. The mega yacht has been designed focusing the attention on space and details, making it discreet, with elegant lines and timeless shapes, which add value both to the ship owner and the shipyard. As regards to the interior design, which was taken care of by the ship Owner’s architects, Cristina and Alexandre Negoescu together with the CRN Centro Stile, there is a dominance of circular lines which represent the new image of onboard comfort, with fluid spaces that ‘expand’ and extend to all the areas. The minimal style and the art deco spirit blend together with elegance and sophistication and are represented in a modern style. The interiors, which feature lots of open spaces, are mainly monochromatic and dominated by white sheer oak creating a new, extremely enjoyable, contemporary habitat which enhances the volumes. In the Owner’s apartment, it is worth noting the new exclusive system that was especially designed by CRN in collaboration with Videoworks and the Polytechnic University of the Marche, to remove all sounds in the bed area. This system makes it possible to cancel the “active noise". Sound is totally annulled through a series of microphones that register environmental background noise and generate noise with opposing frequency to kill the sound waves.
