THE NEW FERRETTI 870 IS UNVEILED

2012年10月9日

The spaciousness and the comfort of a great Ferretti yacht ensured by an overall-length of more than 26 metres, in spite of a hull below 24 metres: this is one of the great strengths of the new Ferretti 870, which will be presented as a worldwide preview at the 35th Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes (September, 11th - 16th 2012). Available in the standard roll-bar version or with an optional hard top, depending on the Owner’s wishes, this yacht extensively renovates the large-yacht range of the historical Ferretti Group’s brand. The Ferretti 870 is yet another accomplishment resulting from the cooperation between Studio Zuccon International Project, AYT - Advanced Yacht Technology (Ferretti Group’s research and naval design centre), and the team of architects and designers of the Centro Stile Ferrettigroup. While preserving some of the most successful features of its predecessors, the Ferretti 870 stands out for a large number of innovative design solutions, including the bronze dome over the navigation bridge - also found on the Ferretti 800 - and large glazing extending along the entire main deck and in the hull, at the cabins’ level. The two open-view windows in the master cabin, in particular, have now been joined by large windows with opening portholes in the guest cabins and two windows in the VIP cabin (located at the extreme bow), which result in extraordinary indoor brightness and offer guests wonderful views. The glazing on the main deck has been extended up to the stern and now features a renovated style thanks to the lower gunwale at the level of the dining area: a solution normally found on much larger yachts which results in more harmonious outer lines and in a sleeker, longer profile characterized by lightness, elegance, and sportiness. Another by-now distinctive feature of several Ferretti Yachts models - the three "shark branchiae" shaped windows separating the saloon’s glazing from the helm station’s one - adds even more character to this really unique craft. “We are extremely proud to be presenting this new model in Cannes - states Alessandro Tirelli, Ferretti Yachts' Brand Manager. On the Ferretti 870, which marks another significant step forward in the evolution of our large-yacht range, we have kept unchanged all the strengths of its predecessor, particularly its rational space arrangement, while improving its outer style and exploiting the longer superstructure to the fullest. This has also allowed us to optimise the interior layout, increasing available onboard space and comfort. All passengers can now enjoy the numerous brilliant, innovative layout solutions found on this over-26-metre-yacht, characterized by outstanding performances, incredible noiselessness and the utmost privacy". The new Ferretti 870 stands out for an extensive use of fine walnut-stained natural oak wood, which can also be found in some interior décor details, such as the doors and drawers of the furniture, featuring lacquered tops and frames. Below deck, wood is combined with leather, which has been used to furnish all cabins. The increased length of this new model can be immediately perceived in the cockpit -so wide it can really be considered as an outdoor lounge where time can be pleasantly spent in good company: indeed, the teak table seating six/eight people has been joined, even in the standard version, by a functional bar unit located on the port side, beside the glazed door leading to the saloon. The living area, dining area, galley and helm station are all on the main deck, but the last two, located afore, have been completely separated from the rest of the boat. The saloon is a large open space allowing to enjoy the sea in the utmost comfort. The large glazing on the broadside ensures incredible brightness, making this room even more stylish and pleasant. Moreover, all interiors are fitted with Cantalupi spotlight lighting systems. In the standard layout, the saloon features a large L-shaped sofa, a comfortable armchair and a coffee table on the left-hand side, while on the right are two small armchairs separated by a cabinet. Behind them is a hiding TV set. On hull number one the Owner has decided to have this area's furniture customized: the living room features two oyster-shade leather sofas and an armchair, all by Frau, and a “Liko Glass” coffee table by Desalto. The grey carpet by GT Design perfectly matches the walnut-stained oak wood floor supplied by the Italian company Stile. The corner table between the two leather sofas, designed by Centro Stile Ferrettigroup, adds the final touch to the interior décor. Right of the saloon and the dining area, an oak wood cabinet with lacquered frames extends along the broadside. It is fitted with a fridge/bottle rack and several compartments to store bottles and various items, and also hosts the hiding 46” TV set. The dining area, to port, is furnished with a "Mirror" glass table by Omnidecor and eight leather chairs with steel frames, supplied by Calligaris. To starboard, under the staircase leading to the flybridge, stands a functional cupboard. In the standard version of the yacht, a second cabinet with doors is located between the sofa in the living room and besides the dining table and offers additional storage space. The whole saloon is fitted with a Bang & Olufsen audio system. The area towards the bow has been redesigned by introducing some brilliant solutions that optimise the interior layout, ensuring easier circulation onboard and increased privacy for guests. A true lobby has been obtained on the right-hand side; from there, a door provides easy access to the helm station. The sliding door located to port, in turn, is one of the three possible accessways to the galley. Besides the staircase rising to the flybridge, the day toilet and the stairs leading below deck can also be found along the right broadside. The galley and the helm station have been extensively modified too. The steering station is now located to starboard and benefits from an excellent front and side view; moreover, simply opening the door behind him, the captain can immediately get a perfect view towards the stern too. The highly ergonomic pilot seat ensures maximum comfort and all onboard equipment and controls are within easy reach. A large number of storage compartments and a high cabinet have been placed behind and to the right of the helm station, to stow and easily find everything the captain may need while cruising. Left of the steering station, a comfortable dinette with an L-shaped sofa and a chart table with a pouf allow the guests to help the captain define the best course and share with him the pleasure of cruising. A sliding door located behind the dinette provides a second access to the galley, which can also be reached from the outside through a door located along the port side deck (as well as from the lobby), which the crew can conveniently use to bypass the saloon. The white lacquered kitchen by Ernestomeda is equipped with Bosch household appliances and a GE side-by-side fridge, and also features a functional quartz resin worktop. The lower deck is accessed from the lobby, amidships. A special lighting system is in place to ensure easier access to the night area, and also creates a very charming atmosphere along the staircase and in the access room leading to the guest cabins: the lighting column running down the stairs has indeed been joined by a backlit side handrail, so the lower deck can be safely reached even at night. In addition to this system, available in the standard version, the Owner can also decide to have installed additional lighting on all staircase steps and on the corridor ones that lead to the guest and VIP cabins. All cabins on the Ferretti 870 have been enlarged by moving all lower deck areas towards the stern, so as to exploit the widest part of the yacht to the fullest - a solution that did not require any changes to the engine rooms, the crew quarters or the garage with respect to the previous model, the Ferretti 830. The new 870 includes three double cabins (in the guest cabin located to port the beds can also be separated), plus a fourth one with twin beds located along the right broadside. All cabins have their own en-suite head and separate shower box. The master cabin has been entirely redesigned: it is now positioned lengthwise and has become a true full-beam cabin, incredibly bright thanks to the double glazing with portholes and finely furnished with a sofa that extends along the entire length of the portside glazing and a sliding lacquered table. A vanity unit with a built-in pouf is located under the opposite glazing. All pieces of furniture have walnut stained oak wood doors and drawers and lacquered tops and frames. The lower deck décor makes an extensive use of wood and leather in beds and headboards, while the head lining above the beds features polished and matt lacquered surfaces alternating with upholstered ones, resulting in a more dynamic perception of indoor space. The master bathroom is furnished with two ceramic washbasins supported by a marble top and fitted with cascade mixer taps. All (master and guest) bathroom accessories are supplied by Capannoli. The shower box with marble walls and floor can be accessed through a glass door by Bianchi e Fontana; the sanitary fixture area is separated by a sliding satin glass door. The position of the head and of the walk-in wardrobe, behind the bed, ensures increased noiselessness, which is also further enhanced by the soundproof bulkhead and the tanks installed between the cabin and the engine room. To guarantee even more onboard comfort and privacy, the crew quarters have been located aft, beyond the engine room, which the sailor can also access directly. The guest cabins have also been considerably improved, resulting in increased available space and incredible brightness, the latter as a result of larger glazing. The fore VIP cabin has two windows with portholes, under one of which - on the starboard side - stands a comfortable armchair. This cabin too stands out for the wide use of wood for walls and wardrobes, its leather headboard, and the lacquered ceiling wings. A vanity unit with a pouf is located along the port wall. The guest cabins are extremely bright too, thanks to the large glazing with portholes, and can boast a very refined style. The port guest cabin in particular can offer the size and comfort typical of a VIP cabin: it can be fitted with a double bed or twin beds ensuring the same excellent liveability, and features a built-in vanity set in the TV unit, which can be equipped with a screen up to 26”. As regards performances, the new Ferretti 870 comes with two 12V 2000 M94 MTU engines having a power of 1948 mph at 2450 rev/min. and allowing it to reach a cruising speed of 27 knots and a maximum speed of 30.5 knots. At the maximum speed, the boat has a range of 300 nautical miles, which increases to 358 nautical miles at cruising speed. In the Hard Top version, the Ferretti 870 reaches a maximum speed of 30 knots ensuring a range of 300 nautical miles, and a cruising speed of 27 knots resulting in a range of 350 nautical miles.
