Ferretti Yachts and India: a great passion

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Ferretti Yachts, world leader in the luxury nautical sector and part of the Ferretti Group, announces a new success - the delivery to India of its first two Ferretti Yachts motoryachts, the 460 and 550, the first luxury motoryachts arrived to the Country. On 22nd December 2007, the Italian yard was welcomed in style at Mumbai's Taj Mahal hotel in an exclusive ceremony organised by local dealers Marine Solutions in collaboration with the Financial Times and City Bank Ultima Card.

More than a hundred guests representing the cream of Indian society, alongside members of the international press, witnessed the forging of a passionate bond between India and Ferretti Yachts on the banks of the Ganges, the sacred river overlooked by the Taj Mahal's Chamber Terrace. The yard's logo was projected onto the waters of Mumbai, a symbol of the blossoming of this close understanding.

"Sales in India of the 460 and 550 models", commented Marco Segato, Vice President Sales Ferretti Yachts, Custom Line and Mochi Craft, "mark an important commercial debut in the Indian region, which in recent years has achieved exceptional levels of economic development. The fact that we've been acknowledged here as the finest interpreters of the seagoing experience is a source of great satisfaction to us and encourages our desire to expand in this nautical market, which I would describe as strategic and increasingly mature".

"Both the Ferretti 460 and the 550", adds Marco Segato, "are outstanding products of the well-established collaboration between AYT - the Ferretti Engineering division - and the Zuccon International Project studio. Both the 14.35 and 17.37 metre models have revolutionised the entry level segment for luxury yachts, creating a stunning balance between dimensions, performance and comfort in yachts of their size. The first surprise is the impression the yachts give of being much larger than they might seem on paper, and we believe that our ability to reinvent on board spaces provides added value for our clients".

The two yachts were greeted at the port of Mumbai by a spectacular firework display. Welcomed by the many celebrities attending the event, they have sparked off a passionate relationship between Ferretti Yachts and India, celebrated in a setting worthy of "A Thousand and One Nights"!
